Story

Stress is a constant in our lives. Although it is impossible to eliminate stress entirely, we hope to provide aid in alleviating it whenever it may arise.

Stress can come in multiple forms, and thus needs different approaches for treatment. Meditation can work for some, while perhaps a soothing massage is preferred by others.

Thus we set out to create a completely revolutionary environment to analyze, identify, and smother the stresses that can plague your day.

Our goal is to design a modular stress relief space for you to step out of your hectic day and breathe. It is a small room - an empathetic pod - equipped with a multilingual AI to measure your needs, and the means to provide them.

MPOD can present relaxing visuals, play ambient music, and diffuse soothing scents to create a personalized experience. Connections to Headspace, CaPS, and other mental wellness services are available, with optional video calling on the interactive digital display walls. Uber Eats orders can be made via the AI and delivered directly to MPOD via a small window.

Building an intelligent environment is no easy task! As we are using cutting edge technology to create something that has never been done before, technological and design difficulties are bound to happen.

With MPOD designed, the next challenge will be to fund its construction and gain support from potential locations such as Carnegie Mellon University.
